MEANWHILE, IN OTHER IOWA NEWS . . .

. . . the state’s governor, Tom Vilsack, publicly admits that he doesn’t know how to send an e-mail . . . and, oh, by the way, that’s why the governor’s office is unable to supply documents regarding plans to supplement a state employee’s salary with funds from the privately-financed Iowa Department of Economic Development Foundation.

Uh . . . huh. Riiiight. At least the governor has the courage to admit to this:

Vilsack said he uses his computer only to check the state’s daily financial receipts.

“That’s all I use it for,” he said. “I don’t read my e-mails. E-mails are printed off - some of them, not all of them - for me to read. I’m technologically deficient, and I don’t understand it. I probably should, but I don’t.”

I take back what I said Tuesday. I think I’d rather be lied to than find out that the governor of Iowa doesn’t read his e-mail and only uses his computer as a giant cash register.
