AN EMBARRASSMENT OF . . . WELL, NOT RICHES, I GUESS

In a move sure to have heads scratching up and down the Mighty Miss, the St. Louis Rams have signed quarterback Chris Chandler to a three-year contract. The Rams now have three starting quarterbacks.

Kurt Warner is on his way out. You know it, I know it, Bob Dole knows it, John Madden’s dog knows; it’s just a matter of who is willing to give up the fourth-round draft choice it would take to pry him loose. Teams in desperate need of a veteran QB would include Baltimore, Arizona, Chicago, San Francisco, Jacksonville, and Buffalo. I’m saying Warner’s bound for San Fran. Maybe. But St. Louis? I strongly doubt Warner is part of their future plans, no matter what the team says.
