Only the Beatles and the MC5 are even close to Sonic Youth. You cannot give any of their albums any less than four stars, and that's only if it's a live album (because it doesn't capture the EVENT.) Any critic who says "Sonic Youth is overhyped" or "Sonic Youth makes songs I don't understand" shall be CAST OUT INTO THE DARKNESS AND MADE TO WRITE FOR THE RELIGION SECTION OF THE PAPER.
