TOILET PAPER LAUNDRY SOAP!
The two most recent ex-coaches of the Alabama Crimson Tide wound up suffering humiliating defeats in last night’s college football action. Dennis Franchione’s Texas A&M squad got stomped flat by the ascending Utah Utes, 41-21, and it wasn’t that close. But for a last-second garbage TD, the game would’ve ended at a more representative 41-14. I saw most of the second half, and A&M looked dreadful–incompetent, unprepared, and slow. It was like watching a Nebraska bowl game from the early 90s.
Meanwhile, Mike Price, who is indirectly responsible for getting this blog more traffic than anyone else–including me–had a lousy debut at UTEP, losing 41-9 to Arizona State. However, nobody expects UTEP to be any good, now or ever. Still, Tide fans (which I am not) have good reason to feel a touch vindicated this morning.

Poor Mike Price. I actually feel a little bad for the guy. He had no idea what he was getting into at ‘Bama. It serves Franchione right, though, weaseling out on the program and the kids like he did.

It is hard to muster any sympathy for Fran. The term “karmic retribution” comes to mind, both for him and for the Aggies.

Did you know that the day after Fran left they went in and removed all traces of his existence from the Bryant Museum? It was like a government conspiracy, but only at UAT.
May Shula have as much success tonight, and War Eagle!

Jilted lover, thy name is Crimson.
Is it any wonder Alabama named its mascot after a woman’s Aunt Flo?
