					<description>You're certainly on to something, Dave.  The only caveat I would add is that many of us judge the task  of being a perfect, non-hypocritical Christian to be all but impossible.  But certainly there's room for improvement, and we mainline types aren't the only ones guilty of partial faithfulness to Jesus' message.</description>

					<description>Isn't this just indicative of a much larger problem in Christianity (and specifically, evangelical Christianity) in the U.S. today?  It seems that a lot of what passes as &quot;religion&quot; anymore is just trite cliches that are designed to make people feel better about themselves or vote a particular way.  I've said many times that if you actually judged Christians by what the Bible says (and what Jesus himself did), most of these folks wouldn't qualify.</description>
