You are not alone. I’m not drinking the USC Kool-Aid and I have serious reservations about the Badgers. OTOH, I have no idea which team I would place #1. There doesn’t seem to be any clear-cut pre-season #1 this year. Every team has question marks.
Your entire Top 20 could probably all make a valid case for Top 5–OK, maybe not Hawaii–but you get the picture.
Notre Dame is not a Top 25 team this year. I would place a bet against them in their bowl game today.

I always doubt Wisconsin a little. They really didn’t play anyone last year and had one good offensive quarter in the bowl game before their defense took over.
